Cignet LLC has acquired electronics manufacturer Schwaiger s.r.o. in Vrchlabi, Czech Republic

Cignet LLC, the parent company of Flight Systems Electronics Group, has successfully completed the
acquisition of Schwaiger s.r.o. in Vrchlabi, Giant Mountains Region, Czech Republic. Vrchlabi is
located about 80 miles north east of Prague near the border to Poland.
Schwaiger s.r.o., an ISO 9001 certified electronics assembly company, is manufacturing complex
electronic satellite multi switches and electronic antenna amplifiers for satellite reception systems.
In addition, it supplies electronics assembly subcontract work for customers in the medical field
worldwide. The company will continue to distribute satellite reception systems under the brand of
Schwaiger in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and parts of Poland.
Located in a facility with 24,000 ft² with additional space available for future growth, the company
has two fully automated SMD electronics assembly lines that handle assembly of both leaded and
lead free electronics circuit boards. With 40 skilled employees focused on electronics assembly,
Schwaiger s.r.o. is well prepared to assemble a large range of electronics products for different
industries. As the facility is integrated into the Cignet group of companies, and in order to serve the
automotive industry, the company is planning a quality certification to ISO TS16949 for mid year
2010.
Significant business growth for Flight Systems Electronics Group in Europe over the past years
necessitated this European presence. As a sister company to Flight Systems Electronics Group, the
company will be serving the groups European customers with remanufactured electronics and
mechatronics as well as low volume electronics assembly. The company will rapidly have the
capabilities in remanufacturing transferred from Flight Systems Electronics Group in Pennsylvania
and will also continue to service its existing customer base.
Mr. Tomáš PELÍŠEK, a graduated engineer of the Czech Technical University of Prague, Faculty of
Electrical Engineering, who has been working in the electronics field since 1991 and who is General
Manager of Schwaiger s.r.o. since 1999, will continue to manage the operation in Vrchlabi.
Mr. Marc Baines, Vice President - Global New Product Development of Flight Systems Electronics
Group, will be instrumental in transitioning the company to being the Flight Systems Electronics
Groups European center for remanufacturing. Marc will reorganize the facility to suit the groups’
needs and launch new products for customers in the automotive field.
Mr. Bodo J. Ruthenberg, who has been with Flight Systems Electronics Group and its subsidiaries
since 2002 and whose focus during the past years was business development for the group in
Europe, has been named President of Flight Systems Electronics Group Europe. His focus is sales and
marketing as well as business development.
